Meet Dr. Karen

“My work inspires me,” says Oklahoma biological dentist Dr. Karen Cox-Haymaker, “ to continually learn more to support and assist our dental patients for their oral health.”

Safe Mercury Removal

Just because a dental office is mercury-free, it’s not necessarily mercury-safe. “Mercury-safe” means that we take extra precautions to minimize your – and our own and our planet’s – exposure to this toxin.

The Oral/Systemic Connection

Gum disease, for instance, has been linked with a wide range of other inflammatory conditions – heart disease, diabetes, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, cognitive decline, cancer, and more. TMJ problems or other issues with an imbalanced bite can contribute to chronic pain.

And this is just part of the intricate relationship between the health of your mouth and your overall health and well-being.

Our approach emphasizes dental care that supports your whole body health, starting with prevention – creating and sustaining good mouth/body health, keeping problems from arising in the first place.

It’s also inherently conservative. When dental work is needed, we strive for minimally invasive ways of addressing your oral health challenges.

After all, the best teeth are your natural teeth. If they ever need to be restored, we choose biocompatible materials – tooth-colored composite or ceramic.

Our office is fluoride-free, mercury-free, and mercury-safe.

Become an Active Partner in Your Dental Care

We invite and encourage our patients to be active partners in their dental care, taking charge of their own health and well-being. So we also emphasize education in our practice.

The more you know about your mouth and body and how they work, the better, more informed decisions you can make about your care – decisions that sync up with your needs, beliefs, values, and health goals.

We are blessed to be able to do the kind of work that we do, helping patients achieve their optimal level of health through our comprehensive mouth/body approach.

Whether you currently have dental problems that need treatment or are simply looking for a new dental home for help in maintaining your current level of mouth/body health, we would be pleased to welcome you into our dental “family.”
